Privacy Policy

InvitedInApp is an invitation-only iPhone app where members chat and meet at events. It’s operated by INVITEDIN LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it and the choices you have. Questions go to support@invitedin.app.
1. What we collect
When you sign up
- Your mobile phone number and email address, to create your account and send you sign-in codes.
- Your display name, which other members see.
- Confirmation that you’re 18 or older.
- Who invited you, from the invite link you used.
When you get verified
- Your first and last name and a photo of your face.
- A short selfie check. The camera checks that you’re a live person and compares your face with your photo. We keep only whether it passed and two match scores. We never keep the video, the selfie or a template of your face.
When you use the app
- Your profile: your photos, the details you choose to add, and the badges you earn.
- What you share: messages, photos and videos you send; events, RSVPs, comments and polls; groups you create or join; invites you send.
- Safety records: blocks and reports you make or that are made about you, and the screenshots or screen recordings the app detects you taking.
- Your device: its push notification token and basic technical information, such as the app version and when you last opened the app.
- Purchases, if InvitedInApp ever sells anything: only Apple’s transaction records. Apple handles payment, and we never receive or store your card details.
2. How we use it
- To run your account, sign you in and keep it secure.
- To show your profile and what you share to the members you share it with.
- To deliver messages and notifications.
- To verify members and keep fake accounts out.
- To keep members safe: to check photos and videos automatically, to look into reports, to enforce our Terms of Service, and to meet our legal duties.
- To understand how the app is used and make it better, using counts rather than individual tracking wherever we can.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t show you ads.
3. Text messages
If you tick “Text me one-time use sign-in codes”, we text you one-time passcodes when you ask for them; see our SMS Terms. We use your phone number only to send those codes and to secure your account. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from every kind of sharing described in this policy and will not be shared with any third parties.
4. What other members see
Other members see your display name, profile photos, the profile details you choose to show, your badges, and what you share with them. Your first and last name, phone number, email address and face photo are private: no member ever sees them.
5. Who else we share it with
- Service providers who run parts of InvitedInApp for us, under contract and only for that purpose: Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage, text messages, email, and the selfie check and photo checks), Apple (push notifications and purchases), and Microsoft (matching known child sexual abuse images, once enabled).
- The law and safety. When the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety. We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as US law requires, and keep what we report for as long as the law requires.
- A change of ownership. If INVITEDIN LLC is sold or merged, under this policy.
6. Disappearing photos and videos
A photo or video sent to disappear after one or two views is deleted from our servers once everyone it was sent to has used their views, or after 7 days, whichever comes first. If someone reports it, we keep it for review and, where the law requires, for reports to the authorities.
7. Screenshots and screen recordings
The app detects when you take a screenshot or record the screen. We record that it happened, on which screen and in which chat, and tell the person whose content was captured. The app may also hide its content while it’s in the app switcher or being recorded.
8. How we protect it
Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest. Your name, phone number and email are encrypted again with keys only a few parts of our system can use, and your face photo is kept in storage of its own. Only the people who run InvitedInApp can reach it, and only when they need to. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we’ll tell you as the law requires.
9. How long we keep it
We keep your information while you have an account. When you delete your account, we remove your profile and personal details, and purge the rest within 30 days, except what we must keep for safety or by law, such as reports, blocks and what we’ve reported to NCMEC.
10. Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile and choose which details show.
- Turn off text messages by replying STOP, and use email codes instead.
- Turn notifications off in your iPhone’s settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, at support@invitedin.app. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, and we honor them.
11. Age
InvitedInApp is only for people 18 or older. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we remove it.
12. Where your information is kept
Your information is stored in the United States. If you use InvitedInApp from elsewhere, you understand that it’s handled there.
13. Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above, and tell you in the app before a significant change applies to you.
